Beacon is a highly accurate Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) laser navigation system with an impressive 45m operating range. It is suitable for large open distribution, storage, warehouse and manufacturing applications.
Beacon derives its position using a 360° Lidar scanner with the help of reflective targets to consistently determine the location of any AMR within 4mm.
Compared to the similar solutions available in the market, the key to the accuracy of the Beacon navigation system is its use of a ‘continuous wave’ beam of light. Beacon Navigator processes the laser beam emitter angle together with the range and intensity of the reflected light received to detect reflector positions.
Following the principle of triangulation, the Beacon Navigator combines reflections from at least 3 suitably distributed reflectors to calculate position.
Beacon is fast and easy to configure. Our engineers can recommend the positioning of a set of reflectors in the operating environment.
Guidance Adopt Beacon software and a mapping vehicle are then used to survey the work areas to create a map which is used by the navigation system to accurately provide positioning for all your AMRs.
