Multiturn Encoders with Solid Shaft and Hollow Shaft: Features and Interfaces
Multiturn encoders are designed to measure both the angular position and the number of revolutions. In addition to recording angular steps per revolution, these encoders also track multiple revolutions. A reduction gear connected to the drive shaft or an electronic system records the number of revolutions.
The measured value of multiturn encoders consists of both the angular position and the number of revolutions, providing precise feedback for various industrial applications. The recorded data is then calculated and output through different interface modules, depending on the system requirements.
Available multiturn encoder interfaces include: SSI, CANopen, CAN SAE J1939, RS485, Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT, and Biss-C, offering flexible integration into a wide range of industrial systems.
